Digital Interoperability (CoP DI)

DHA Special Interest Group

The DIIG is made up of leading digital health industry organisations that provide software solutions and services that are digital interoperability enablers in New Zealand’s health sector. Digital interoperability enablers relate to software and services that are considered to be core and important to the operation of health information technology systems.

This includes (but is not limited to) digital identity, cyber security, privacy, standards, cloud, SaaS, data governance, and foundational systems.

The DIIG engages collaboratively across the sector to provide leadership, strategic advice, guidance, and advocates for the advancement of sustainable, secure solutions that enable the delivery of effective and efficient health services. Members have the opportunity to be involved in cross-sector activities with health providers, policy-makers, and sector advisory bodies (e.g., HISO, HL7 NZ, Snomed).

The DIIG meets virtually every two months.

Solutions Architect, Dedalus

Chris Royle is a Solutions Architect at Dedalus with over 30 years of experience in healthcare IT, particularly in interoperability and data exchange standards. He specialises in HL7 FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and has been deeply involved in implementing FHIR-based solutions across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

Chris has also developed an educational video series called “A-Z of FHIR” to guide healthcare professionals on FHIR’s applications and benefits for data sharing and digital health.
