Healthtech International Industry Group (HIIG)
DHA Special Interest Group
The HIIG is a representative special interest industry group of digital health companies and organisations that export or import digital health products and services as well as those who wish to learn more about exporting to overseas markets.
Its purpose is to support those members that currently export or import their goods and services, as well as provide industry collaboration and advice to those who wish to learn how to export. Regular guests include updates from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE).
The HIIG also represents digital health companies and organisations who wish to focus on and help improve procurement-related matters and subsequent issues within the digital health industry. Our vision is that the HIIG is able to collaborate and advocate for stronger procurement processes in digital health through working together.
The HIIG meets virtually every two months.

Head of Public Sector, Orion Health
Paul Claxton is Orion Health NZ Head of Public Sector, based in Wellington. Paul has more than 30 years of IT experience, with the last 15 seeing him working in the health IT sector in New Zealand and the UK. Paul’s prior healthcare roles, including positions with Microsoft, iSOFT, CSC, and DXC Technology, saw him develop an understanding of the broader health ecosystem.
The combination of Paul’s recent international experience with his understanding of the New Zealand system presents an ideal opportunity to contribute to the DHA’s Healthtech International Industry Group (HIIG) which is focused on New Zealand digital health companies and organisations that export digital health products and services overseas as well as seeking to help improve domestic procurement related practices. The formation of the HIIG comes at a vital time in New Zealand’s quest to drive the adoption of digital solutions that connect and engage citizens, empowering them to participate actively in their own healthcare.
