The People’s Project, established in 2014, is a dedicated initiative aimed at ending homelessness in Hamilton and Tauranga through the internationally recognised Housing First approach. Recognising that homelessness is a complex issue requiring a collaborative and evidence-based strategy, The People’s Project supports individuals experiencing homelessness, including those sleeping rough, living in vehicles, or without permanent, safe accommodation. Operating with an open-door policy, their mission is to provide free, accessible, and tailored support to help people regain stability and dignity. As part of the Wise Group, the project leverages global insights and innovative methods to create sustainable solutions that go beyond managing homelessness to ending it.
Target customer: Individuals aged 18 and over experiencing homelessness in Hamilton or Tauranga, including those living rough, in overcrowded housing, or in emergency accommodation, and organisations seeking to collaborate on housing-first initiatives.
