
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira is the mandated iwi authority for Ngāti Toa Rangatira, established in 1990 to manage the iwi's estates and assets. The organisation oversees political and public interests on behalf of Ngāti Toa Rangatira, including Treaty claims and settlements, commercial and customary fisheries, health services, social services, relationships with central and local government, and resource and environmental management. Additionally, it manages commercial interests, including property assets, and operates as a non-profit incorporated society with charitable status. Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira aims to enhance the mana, well-being, and prosperity of Ngāti Toa Rangatira iwi, hapū, and whānau.
