Emerging Personalised Healthcare Industry Group (EPHIG) – September 2026

The Emerging Personalised Healthcare Industry Group (EPHIG) is held every two months.  

The EPHIG covers digital health that relates to AI and LLM, Big Data, genomics, virtual, personalised medicine, and remote healthcare.   

The group is co-chaired by Brendan Swan, Personalised Healthcare Squad Lead, Roche. 

As the sector works toward greater patient data ownership and interoperability, MedicAlert offers a grounded example of what it looks like when a New Zealander holds and shares their own health record – and what that means for the systems that need to connect with it.

Megan McMillan – CEO, MedicAlert Foundation NZ

Megan McMillan leads MedicAlert Foundation NZ, a non-profit charitable organisation that provides emergency medical information services for New Zealanders living with allergies, disabilities, and chronic health conditions. MedicAlert’s service gives first responders immediate access to a member’s critical medical information when they cannot speak for themselves.

Megan will present on MedicAlert’s member portal, covering how it gives members control over their own medical information and allows them to access and share it wherever and whenever they need to. For members working in patient-facing digital tools, health data, or consumer health, this is a practical look at patient-directed information sharing in action.

Dan Lord, Information Systems Manager at MedicAlert, will also be on the call to answer technical questions.
