Medtech-iQ Aotearoa is a national innovation hub that brings the MedTech sector together to spark creativity, drive economic growth and generate positive outcomes for our people, our communities and New Zealand as a whole.
Operating through four inter-connected regional hubs in Auckland, Canterbury, Wellington and Dunedin, they provide direction, connection, coordination and support to MedTech innovators across Aotearoa. Built on the foundations of the Consortium for Medical Device Technologies (CMDT) — a partnership between leading universities, Callaghan Innovation and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora — Medtech-iQ draws on a proven model where hospitals, clinics and universities sit at the centre of successful innovation ecosystems.
Medtech-iQ supports early-stage MedTech innovators on their commercialisation journey through programmes, networking and sector-wide coordination.
Their offerings include the Te Tītoki Mataora Future Leaders Module for emerging MedTech leaders, health economics workshops, regional MedTech Connect networking events, and HealthTech Week — Aotearoa's national health technology conference. They also run a national seminar series spotlighting real pathways from academic research to commercial health solutions, maintain a showcase of NZ MedTech companies, and keep the sector connected through their MedTech Bites newsletter.
