Melbourne, Australia: Alcidion Group Limited has been selected as part of a global consortium to build a new Health Knowledge Management (HKM) system for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The HKM system will replace the ADF’s legacy electronic health record product with a modern, patient-centric health solution to enable better clinical decision-making and care for the ADF population.

In the consortium led by Leidos Australia, Alcidion’s Miya Precision platform will perform the critical role of aggregating data from consortium partner solutions and other systems in the Defence environment, to provide clinicians with a consolidated view of every participant’s health status and history.

The platform will record, store, aggregate and analyse health data for the ADF population from multiple care settings, including multidisciplinary primary care as well as emergency and hospital care, in both garrison and deployed domains.

Work has commenced on the project, with initial operating capability planned for November 2023 and final operating capability to be realised in 2025.

Alcidion’s contribution to the HKM forms a significant component of the contract issued to Leidos Australia by the ADF Chief Information Officer Group. Alcidion’s contract with Leidos Australia is over an initial six-year term, with further contract extensions and options to renew for up to 15 years.

More than 95 per cent of the HKM project will be delivered by Australian companies. In addition to Alcidion and Leidos Australia, consortium partners include Ascention, Coviu Global, Fred IT Group, MediRecords, Nous Group, Philips Electronics Australia, Precision Medical and Titanium Solutions Australia, Cerner Corporation and QlikTech Australia.
