Orion Health introduces Unified Healthcare Platform to Southeast Asia

Orion Health is set to introduce its Unified Healthcare Platform (UHP) to Southeast Asia for the first time. This move is projected to enhance the healthcare experience in the region significantly. Moreover, Timothy Kim, a seasoned industry player, is making a return with Orion Health as the Asia Sales Director, responsible for managing the revitalised local business.

For Niru Rajakumar, Orion Health VP for APAC, the advent of the UHP comes at an opportune time. He said, "Across South East Asia we have seen a move to population health, preventative care, and health systems seeking to maximise their data to get better insights. The future of healthcare will be underpinned by the UHP empowering people, revealing insights from data, and unifying healthcare silos seamlessly."

The UHP, a pioneering platform in its own right, amalgamates personal, public, and healthcare-specific data. This unique technology is designed with paramount security, interoperability, and scalability and is exclusively built for the healthcare industry. Its three principal elements, the Amadeus Digital Care Record, the Virtuoso Digital Front Door and the Orchestral Health Intelligence Platform, consolidate patient data across care settings, allow people to access their data and chart their healthcare journey, and provide real-time insights and predictive analytics respectively to enhance clinical outcomes and overall population health.

Functioning as a perfect complement, Orion Health’s Hospitals Electronic Patient Record, an already deployed hospital information system in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, pairs beautifully with the UHP. This system expedites elevated healthcare delivery by simplifying administrative and clinical workflows and bridges the gap between disparate systems, thus enabling healthcare professionals to make informed decisions from one centralised system.

Timothy Kim, the newly appointed Asia Sales Director, returns with a unique mix of experience as a registered nurse, along with his proficiencies in developing and executing clinical solutions. He said, "I have seen first-hand how the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare can be met by unlocking data from siloes, giving people access to their health data and applying the power of new technology such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to large-scale, healthcare-specific data sets."

Kim expressed his anticipation for working with health systems across the region, such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and existing partners in Thailand and Vietnam. He narrates how the seamless integration of the Orion Health Hospital information system and the UHP can elevate the patient experience. He concludes, "I look forward to collaborating with health systems...providing an elegant, patient-centric journey through the health system."
