Leading New Zealand digital health companies collaborate to create a forward-looking platform to support whānau with targeted and seamless healthcare delivery.
March 30th, 2022 - Whānau Tahi, Valentia Technologies and HealthSoft proudly announce a long-term strategic collaboration which includes licensing frameworks to enable Whānau Tahi to incorporate in and leverage advanced technologies from Valentia and HealthSoft for their iwi and whānau support services.
Whānau Tahi operates in what are often complex environments whereby the ability to access and support whānau with advanced and personalised health and wellbeing solutions is a key requirement. This is paralleled with a wide range of services to address and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for all whānau.
Whānau Tahi, Valentia Technologies and HealthSoft are committed to both alignment and integration with the new Hira project (national health information platform), announced by the New Zealand Ministry of Health, to create a new ‘ecosystem of data and digital services’. We anticipate Hira will enable new and improved health services, systems and tools to be delivered more quickly, to be easier to deploy, use and manage, and will deliver significant benefits to funders, providers and health consumers.
“The intent of this strategic collaboration is another initiative by Whānau Tahi to accelerate even better health equity and health outcomes for Māori. This collaboration with Valentia Technologies and HealthSoft enables us to access leading edge innovative technologies, with deep digital health experience, so that our Whānau Tahi teams are better informed, resourced and supported as they do their mahi (work) with our whānau”, said John Tamihere, CEO, Waipareira Trust (owner of Whānau Tahi).
“Concurrent with our work with our whānau, and with iwi around the country, we plan to offer the best health services to all New Zealanders, and seek opportunities internationally”, he added.
“Valentia Technologies see our technologies as being highly complementary and supportive of the Whanau Tahi vision to significantly improve health outcomes for Māori.
We have cultivated a large team of expert and skilled staff who have significant experience of delivering complex solutions for healthcare clients both in New Zealand and internationally, and who will work alongside Whānau Tahi and HealthSoft to develop and power primary care and patient services for whānau and iwi”, said Dr Ahmed Javad, President - Technical Services at Valentia Technologies.
HealthSoft Managing Director, Margie Peat added, “HealthSoft has a deep understanding of the community and compounding pharmacy markets in both New Zealand and Australia. We have worked with Whānau Tahi over many years to support the integration of dispensed medicines data from the RxOne® pharmacy platform to Whānau Tahi’s NZePS prescription data repository. We’re excited to now extend that relationship to deliver new medicine and pharmacy services with Whānau Tahi and Valentia Technologies”.
The trio will collaborate by identifying and delivering key projects aimed at enhancing and customising the core Whānau Tahi technology systems. Collectively the objective is to focus on “health consumer” experiences and technology that will give whānau the confidence and authority to improve their health and wellbeing.
