Medicly, a secure data exchange that automates the technology workflow required to access primary care data securely, has partnered with Medtech Global to roll out their solution to healthcare providers across Aotearoa. This partnership will enhance the security of primary healthcare records and information by providing an audit of all data access.

Medtech owns and manages over 85% of the practice management systems (PMS) across New Zealand. Medicly’s healthcare data exchange is built on Eightwire’s platform, which has also facilitated the secure sharing of data across government agencies and between NGOs for New Zealand’s Social Investment Agency since 2016.

Likewise, it’s been a mutually beneficial partnership for Medtech.

Medicly is built on Eightwire’s Data Exchange platform that currently processes over 3.5 billion records every month in the social, healthcare and law enforcement sectors. Eightwire has achieved SOC II and government certifications to ensure that every citizen's data is secure and managed responsibly.

The platform is quick and easy to set up, operate and maintain. It allows system integration without the need for APIs, manual extracts, or other complex technologies. It can deliver 4000 records per second, all while reducing data errors that can cause system crashes.

“Medicly is committed to data privacy and maintaining the strictest security practices,” says Ellis. “All data that passes through Medicly is encrypted at rest and in transit. This means that not even the staff at Medicly or Eightwire can see the data moving through the system.”

Government agencies, NGOs, and healthcare providers across the country are already using the Eightwire data exchange to transform the way they manage their data, and there has also been interest from Medtech’s Australian customers. Future applications for Medicly include expanding the exchange to pharmacies and independent health practitioners like chiropractors, physiotherapists, and counsellors.
