This strong network brings together custodianship of nearly 100% of Aotearoa New Zealand’s health-related data that covers a New Zealander’s health journey from birth to death. We work collaboratively across the health sector, with government, and with key stakeholders to position digital health technologies as critical key infrastructure and an enabler of quality health, social care, and wellbeing services. Our members make a significant contribution to, and investment in, the research, development, and implementation of innovative digital health solutions to support and enable the future direction of health delivery, both in New Zealand and internationally.
Our vision is to support and grow a thriving and vibrant digital health ecosystem.
Our purpose is to act as the conjugate between government and industry, advocating for the use of digital health in order to improve health outcomes across Aotearoa.
The DHA is an open and welcoming community that enables an informed, coordinated and powerful voice, with the goal of maximising health and economic value for all New Zealanders through world class digital health technology.
The DHA is excited to hold our flagship event at the Banquet Hall, Parliament Buildings, in Wellington on Tuesday 22nd of August 2023. With the election just around the corner, the DHA’s Parliamentary event comes at a crucial time of the electoral cycle and provides members, stakeholders, policymakers, and politicians the opportunity to hear from key sector leaders in our health sector.
This year the event’s theme is:
"The significance of digital health to New Zealand: How will it influence equitable health outcomes and Pae Ora for all New Zealanders?
Confirmed speakers, so far, are:
Since the 2022 Health Sector Reforms and the COVID-19 pandemic, the New Zealand Government has indicated that data and digital will act as a key enabler to help unify health services, shift the health outcomes of New Zealanders, and will transform equity of access while providing greater continuity of care across the health system; it is one of six key priorities in Te Pae Tata 2022. National programmes such as Hira, a national data platform, the Aotearoa Immunisation Register (AIR), national screening services, and digital identity, amongst others, have begun and our members are at the heart of all of these programmes of work. At the event we will hear from key sector leaders on the progress made so far on one of the most significant health sector reforms in recent history and how digital health will play an important role in achieving Pae Ora.
The DHA’s Parliamentary event provides a fantastic opportunity for our members to come together as a community to socialise, meet and talk with colleagues, peers, and leaders from across the health sector and enjoy a fantastic evening of information, banter, and fun.
