The Digital Health Association is delighted to invite members to attend a workshop in conjunction with our Parliamentary Reception on 23 July 2024.

To make the most of members being in Wellington to attend the Parliamentary Reception in the evening, joint Australia/New Zealand digital health workshops are scheduled earlier in the day. You can choose to attend one of two sessions.

Please join the DHA for roundtable workshops led by New Zealand and Australian government digital health officials, kindly facilitated and hosted by EY Wellington.

To ensure a diverse range of industry participants and to accommodate as many member views as possible, we kindly ask that each organisation registers a maximum of one to two representatives for the workshops. Please note that each workshop has a capacity limit of 45 participants. If needed, we may get in touch to make sure everyone has a fair chance to participate.

Enormous thanks to our sponsors of the DHA's Parliamentary Reception and Workshops 2024!

Workshop Information

Theme: Australia and New Zealand digital health, unifying technology for seamless sharing across borders.

In this workshop we will aim to answer the question:

“How do Australia and New Zealand create the consistent digital health foundations across borders to drive sharing by default”?

We are excited to be bringing back our popular workshops where DHA members join Health New Zealand leaders and sector representatives to tackle topical challenges in digital health.

This year we are partnering with executives from the Australian Federal Department of Health and Aged Care, Australian Digital Health Agency, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to focus on the opportunities for Australia and New Zealand to establish consistent digital health foundations and work towards sharing by default.

The two 90-minute workshops, generously hosted and facilitated by EY Wellington, are exclusive to members.

The agenda will include:

  • Insights from a panel of senior delegates from Health NZ, the Australian Federal Health Department, the Australian Digital Health Agency, and CSIRO
  • Interactive table activity to generate ideas for cross-Tasman collaboration across different topics. Groups will work together to pitch their best ideas back to the group for a competitive edge. Each table will have representation from Health New Zealand D&D leadership and the Australian contingent.

Examples of discussion topics to be covered at the table activity include:

  • Potential cross-industry partnerships to consider
  • Equity considerations in our collaborative efforts
  • Joint career pathways and skill development opportunities
  • Key strengths that each country can offer
  • Interoperability opportunities and challenges to overcome

Join us for this unique opportunity to network with colleagues from the New Zealand and Australian health systems, contribute to the shared vision of a collaborative cross-Tasman health partnership, catch up with your industry peers, enjoy some delicious food, and have the chance to win a prize!

2024 Theme

“Australia and New Zealand digital health, unifying technology for seamless sharing across borders.”

With a new government setting a different direction, the DHA’s Parliamentary Reception comes at a pivotal time post Budget 2024 and provides members, stakeholders, policymakers, and politicians the opportunity to hear from key sector leaders in our health sector.

This year we have some very exciting news! In 2024 we are welcoming an Australian delegation of government officials to join us in our workshops on the morning of the Parliamentary Reception and to share their insights and learnings from Australia with our members and guests at our evening event. We are thrilled to be hosting the Australians this year.

Now more than ever, Trans-Tasman relationships are vital. The annual DHA workshops and Parliamentary Reception will offer members a window into the world of our nearest neighbours and bring together the two countries to provide opportunities for collaboration and working together. We’ll aim to answer the question, how do Australia and New Zealand create the consistent digital health foundations to drive sharing by default?

The DHA’s Parliamentary event also provides a fantastic opportunity for our members to come together as a community to socialise, meet and talk with colleagues, peers, and leaders from across the health sector and enjoy a fantastic evening of information, banter, and fun.
