Our small but passionate team works hard to support the daily operations of the DHA. Comprised of skilled employees and contractors, they are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our members, coordinating events, managing communications, and driving the organisation’s initiatives. Their enthusiasm and commitment are key to the success of DHA’s efforts to enhance New Zealand’s digital health landscape.

Stella Ward CEO
Stella is a passionate and purpose-driven executive who thrives at the intersection of people, technology, and systems change. Throughout her career, she has been guided by a simple but powerful belief: that bold ideas, when nurtured with integrity and kindness, can transform lives and communities.
With over a decade of executive leadership across health, technology, and innovation, Stella has had the privilege of leading large-scale digital transformations, building high-performing teams, and creating spaces where creativity and collaboration flourish. Most recently as CEO, she led Streamliners NZ Ltd through international growth and recognition, supporting the company to earn the NZTE FernMark as a New Zealand exporter.
Currently serving as Global Ambassador for Streamliners, she continues to champion thought leadership in health and social care, and build strategic relationships across Aotearoa, Australia, the UK, and Canada. Now Stella is the Chief Executive (Fractional) of the Digital Health Association.
"What matters most to me is the impact we create, whether that is improving healthcare delivery, supporting innovators, or building partnerships that span sectors and borders," she says.
When not working, you will find her exploring the arts, supporting local innovation ecosystems, or enjoying the natural beauty of Ōtautahi Christchurch. "I'm endlessly curious, always learning, and deeply committed to creating a future that's more connected, equitable, and inspired. I love meeting people who are passionate about making things better."

Zoe Barnes Communications
Zoe has extensive experience working in consumer and business-to-business communications for some of New Zealand's most renowned brands. Her expertise spans across websites, social media, EDM, and advertising. Zoe joins the DHA from the (mostly) sunny Hawke's Bay.

Lys Game Finance Manager
Lys is our Finance Manager working for us alongside her team at Baker Tilly Staples Rodway, Tauranga. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business at the University of Waikato in 2022.

Heidi Hitchman Board Secretariat
Heidi is our Board Secretariat, joining the DHA with 25+ years’ experience in business administration and senior management experience in the rural and legal sectors. Heidi has 3 sons and a daughter, married and based in the Manawatu.

Daniel is a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of NZ and the Strategic Director at The PR Company. He is a vastly experienced public relations and advocacy campaigner whose insights are grounded in over 40 years of experience working in and around Wellington’s political and policy landscape.
