The Digital Health Association (DHA) welcomes new member Dicerra

Dicerra is derived from a combination of the Latin words discere errata and means “to learn from mistakes”. The company was founded based on lessons learned from aviation reporting culture about how to share preventative measures to increase safety and effectiveness for people working in highly complex, socio-technical domains. 

There are many challenges faced by health care workers in providing the best possible patient and professional care; yet sharing information on best practices, lessons learned, or novel solutions is often hampered by clumsy internal systems that have not evolved with the digital age. Dicerra solves this problem.

Dicerra is a unique platform for health care professionals to share information that will improve patient outcomes and provide information for professionals across all health care regions in both New Zealand and Canada (and eventually worldwide). Our focus is on constant improvement, not on punitive measures, so sharing incidents, suggestions, or solutions is always secure and confidential. Its purpose is to foster open dialogue and create a healthy culture of sharing so that problems encountered in one region may be solved with solutions discovered elsewhere without having to endure identical processes of trial and error. 

The information you post will not languish in a filing cabinet never to see the light of day; it will contribute to the professional development of a huge community of health care workers that may be separated by geographical distance but are united in a common challenge. Furthermore, your posts contain data that is separated from your anonymous user profile and compiled to form statistics on populations and regions that, till now, we have not had the ability to measure, much less understand.
