Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Northern region collaborated with Valentia Technologies to develop and implement an integrated, cloud-based oncology and haematology e-prescribing and administration solution.
Raurau Ngaehe was built over four years by a team of around 50 developers from Valentia, working alongside 10 clinical experts in haematology, oncology, and paediatrics.
The system is fully integrated with other healthcare ecosystems in New Zealand and has been designed using SNOMED CT for data capture and FHIR for near real-time data exchange, making it the first CanShare standard system in the country.
Raurau Ngaehe ensures business continuity by design, allowing ongoing patient care during disasters by providing near real-time updates of patient charts, treatment summaries, and pharmacy orders.
