InterSystems IRIS for Health to scale Consultmed’s capacity via integrations with electronic medical record and other clinical systems, including InterSystems TrakCare
InterSystems, a creative data technology provider dedicated to helping customers solve the most critical scalability, interoperability and speed problems, today announced a collaboration with Consultmed, an Australian provider of a referral management and automated workflow platform connecting primary care providers, medical specialists and hospitals. As part of the collaboration, Consultmed will replatform its software on InterSystems IRIS for Health™, accelerating and reducing costs of new integrations with electronic medical record (EMR) and other clinical systems, including InterSystems TrakCare®, through a comprehensive range of pre-built interfaces and support for healthcare data standards.
Consultmed’s platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure, supports integrated referral management, virtual triage, Advice & Guidance™, secure messaging, digital patient forms, requests for admission, and AI digitisation of paper referrals. Benefits include faster turnaround for appointments, fewer missed appointments, and reduced administration costs. At the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, Consultmed’s roll-out has enabled a 25-35% average reduction in unnecessary specialist outpatient visits due to Advice & Guidance™, an estimated 55% reduction in missed outpatient appointments, and an 85% improvement in referral response time and appointment scheduling.
